आज का प्रेरक प्रसंग

           !! अहंकार की सजा !!

एक बहुत ही घना जंगल था। उस जंगल में एक आम और एक पीपल का भी पेड़ था। एक बार मधुमक्‍खी का झुण्‍ड उस जंगल में रहने आया, लेकिन उन मधुमक्‍खी के झुण्‍ड को रहने के लिए एक घना पेड़ चाहिए था।

रानी मधुमक्‍खी की नजर एक पीपल के पेड़ पर पड़ी तो रानी मधुमक्‍खी ने पीपल के पेड़ से कहा- हे पीपल भाई, क्‍या मैं आपके इस घने पेड़ की एक शाखा पर अपने परिवार का छत्‍ता बना लुं?

पीपल को कोई परेशान करे यह पीपल को पसंद नहीं था। अहंकार के कारण पीपल ने रानी मधुमक्‍खी से गुस्‍से में कहा- हटो यहाँ से, जाकर कहीं और अपना छत्‍ता बना लो। मुझे परेशान मत करो।

पीपल की बात सुन कर पास ही खड़े आम के पेड़ ने कहा- पीपल भाई बना लेने दो छत्‍ता। ये तुम्‍हारी शाखाओं में सुरक्षित रहेंगी।

पीपल ने आम से कहा- तुम अपना काम करो, इतनी ही चिन्‍ता है तो तुम ही अपनी शाखा पर छत्‍ता बनाने के लिए क्‍यों नहीं कह देते?

इस बात से आम के पेड़ ने मधुमक्‍खी रानी से कहा- हे रानी मक्‍खी, अगर तुम चाहो तो तुम मेरी शाखा पर अपना छत्‍ता बना लो।

इस पर रानी मधुमक्‍खी ने आम के पेड़ का आभार व्‍यक्‍त किया और अपना छत्‍ता आम के पेड़ पर बना लिया।

समय बीतता गया और कुछ दिनों बाद जंगल में कुछ लकडहारे आए। उन लोग को आम का पेड़ दिखाई दिया और वे आपस में बात करने लगे कि इस आम के पेड़ को काट कर लकड़िया ले लिया जाये।

वे लोग अपने औजार लेकर आम के पेड़ को काटने चले, तभी एक व्‍यक्ति ने ऊपर की ओर देखा तो उसने दूसरे से कहा- नहीं, इसे मत काटो। इस पेड़ पर तो मधुमक्‍खी का छत्‍ता है, कहीं ये उड़ गई तो हमारा बचना मुश्किल हो जायेगा।

उसी समय एक आदमी ने कहा- क्‍यों न हम लोगों को ये पीपल का पेड़ ही काट लिया जाए। इसमें हमें ज्‍यादा लकड़ियां भी मिल जायेगी और हमें कोई खतरा भी नहीं होगा।

वे लोग मिल कर पीपल के पेड़ को काटने लगे। पीपल का पेड़ दर्द के कारण जोर-जोर से चिल्‍लाने लगा, बचाओ-बचाओ-बचाओ…

आम को पीपल की चिल्‍लाने की आवाज आई, तो उसने देखा कि कुछ लोग मिल कर उसे काट रहे हैं।

आम के पेड़ ने मधुमक्‍खी से कहा- हमें पीपल के प्राण बचाने चाहिए… आम के पेड़ ने मधुमक्‍खी से पीपल के पेड़ के प्राण बचाने का आग्रह किया तो मधुमक्‍खी ने उन लोगों पर हमला कर दिया और वे लोग अपनी जान बचा कर जंगल से भाग गए।

पीपल के पेड़ ने मधुमक्‍खीयों को धन्‍यवाद दिया और अपने आचरण के लिए क्षमा मांगी।

तब मधुमक्‍खीयों ने कहा- धन्‍यवाद हमें नहीं, आम के पेड़ को दो जिन्‍होंने आपकी जान बचाई है, क्‍योंकि हमें तो इन्‍होंने कहा था कि अगर कोई बुरा करता है तो इसका मतलब यह नहीं है कि हम भी वैसा ही करें।

अब पीपल को अपने किये पर पछतावा हो रहा था और उसका अहंकार भी टूट चुका था। पीपल के पेड़ को उसके अहंकार की सजा भी मिल चुकी थी।

शिक्षा:-
हमें कभी अहंकार नहीं करना चाहिए।जितना हो सके लोगों के काम ही आना चाहिए, जिससे वक्‍त पड़ने पर तुम भी किसी से मदद मांग सको। जब हम किसी की मदद करेंगे तब ही कोई हमारी भी मदद करेगा..!!

सदैव प्रसन्न रहिये – जो प्राप्त है, पर्याप्त है।
जिसका मन मस्त है – उसके पास समस्त है।।

           !! Punishment for Arrogance!!

There was a very dense forest. There was a mango and a peepal tree in that forest. Once, a swarm of honeybees came to live in that forest, but they needed a dense tree to live in.

The queen bee’s eyes fell on a peepal tree and she said to the peepal tree, “O brother peepal, may I build my family’s hive on a branch of this dense tree of yours?”

The peepal tree did not like anyone disturbing it. Due to its arrogance, the peepal tree angrily said to the queen bee, “Get away from here, go and build your hive somewhere else. Don’t bother me.”

Hearing the Peepal tree’s words, a nearby mango tree said, “Brother Peepal, let me build a hive. These will be safe in your branches.”

The Peepal tree said to the mango, “Do your work. If you’re so concerned, why don’t you ask me to build a hive on your branch?”

The mango tree said to the queen bee, “O queen bee, if you wish, you can build your hive on my branch.”

The queen bee expressed her gratitude to the mango tree and built her hive on the mango tree.

Time passed, and a few days later, some woodcutters came to the forest. They saw the mango tree and began discussing whether they should cut it down for wood.

They took their tools and went to cut down the mango tree. When one man looked up, he said to the other, “No, don’t cut it down.” There’s a beehive on this tree, and if it flies away, it will be difficult for us to escape.

Just then, a man said, “Why don’t we cut down this Peepal tree? We’ll get more wood, and we won’t be in any danger.”

They all started cutting down the Peepal tree together. The Peepal tree cried out in pain, “Save me, save me, save me…”

The mango tree heard the Peepal tree’s cries and saw that some people were cutting it down together.

The mango tree said to the bee, “We must save the Peepal tree’s life…” The mango tree urged the bee to save the Peepal tree, but the bee attacked them, and they fled the forest for their own lives.

The Peepal tree thanked the bees and apologized for its behavior.

Then the bees said, “Don’t thank us, but thank the mango tree for saving your life, because it told us that just because someone does bad things doesn’t mean we have to do the same.”

Now the peepal tree regretted its actions, and its pride had been shattered. The peepal tree had been punished for its pride.

Moral:

We should never be arrogant. We should help people as much as possible, so that you too can ask for help when the need arises. Only when we help someone will someone help us.

Always be happy – what you have is enough.
He who has a happy mind has everything.
