विश्व रेडियोग्राफी दिवस पर राजकीय डूँगर महाविद्यालय के प्राणिविज्ञान विभाग तथा इंडियन सोसाइटी फ़ॉर रेडिएशन बायोलॉजी के संयुक्त तत्त्वावधान में हर्बल रेडीएशन सुरक्षा विषय पर एक दिवसीय राष्ट्रीय सिम्पोजियम रसायन विभाग के कॉन्फ्रेंस कक्ष में आयोजित किया गया।
आयोजन सचिव डॉ. अर्चना पुरोहित ने सिम्पोजियम की रूपरेखा बताते हुए कहा कि इस सिम्पोजियम का उद्देश्य औषधीय पौधों के स्वस्थ दुनिया निर्माण में महत्त्व को विद्यार्थियों एवं संकाय सदस्यों तक पहुंचाना है।
इस अवसर पर महाविद्यालय प्राचार्य एवं मुख्य वक्ता डॉ. राजेन्द्र पुरोहित ने कहा कि हर्बल पौधों का औषधीय महत्त्व बहुत अधिक है। वैज्ञानिकों को इस तरफ और शोध करने की आवश्यकता है। ये पादप न केवल मनुष्यों को रेडिएशन से बचाते हैं अपितु विभिन्न विकिरणजन्य कैंसर जैसी घातक बीमारियों से हमारी रक्षा करते हैं।
उन्होंने बताया कि पुदीना,धनिया,तुलसी, लेमन ग्रास, लैवेंडर, सौंफ जैसे हर्बल पौधों को संरक्षित रखने व उनके दैनिक जीवन मे अधिकाधिक उपयोग करने की आवश्यकता है।
प्राणिविज्ञान संकाय के विभागाध्यक्ष डॉ. प्रताप सिंह ने इस अवसर पर विश्व रेडियोग्राफी दिवस के बारे में विस्तार से विद्यार्थियों को अवगत करवाया।
कार्यक्रम समन्वयक डॉ. मनीषा अग्रवाल ने मंचस्थ वक्ताओं, कार्यक्रम में उपस्थित समस्त संकाय सदस्यों, विद्यार्थियों का आभार प्रकट किया। इस अवसर पर मंच पर उपस्थित भूतपूर्व प्रो. डॉ. के.एम.भारतीय तथा महाविद्यालय में प्राणिविज्ञान विभाग की प्रो.डॉ. अरुणा चक्रवर्ती का सम्मान किया गया।

On World Radiography Day, a one-day national symposium on herbal radiation protection was organized in the conference room of the Department of Chemistry under the joint aegis of the Department of Zoology and the Indian Society for Radiation Biology of Government Dungar College.
Detailing the outline of the symposium, organizing secretary Dr. Archana Purohit said that the objective of this symposium is to convey the importance of medicinal plants in building a healthy world to the students and faculty members.
On this occasion, college principal and keynote speaker Dr. Rajendra Purohit said that herbal plants have immense medicinal importance. Scientists need to do more research in this direction. These plants not only protect humans from radiation but also protect us from deadly diseases like various radiation-induced cancers.
He said that there is a need to preserve herbal plants like mint, coriander, basil, lemon grass, lavender, fennel and use them more and more in daily life.
On this occasion, the Head of the Department of Zoology, Dr. Pratap Singh, informed the students about World Radiography Day in detail.
Program coordinator Dr. Manisha Agarwal expressed her gratitude to the speakers on the stage, all the faculty members and students present in the program. On this occasion, former Prof. Dr. K.M. Bhartiya and Prof. Dr. Aruna Chakraborty of the Department of Zoology in the college were honored.
