बीकानेर, @MaruSangram। बीकानेर जिला कुश्ती संगम के उपाध्यक्ष वरिष्ठ पहलवान महेंद्र सिंह चौहान को शुक्रवार को पटेल बाल विहार व्यायामशाला में श्रद्धांजलि दी गई।
जिला कुश्ती संगम के संरक्षक अरुण कुमार पांडे, नवलराम सिहाग, रघुवीर सिंह पूनियां, मानसिंह सिहाग,अध्यक्ष कमल कल्ला, सचिव पहलवान जगन पूनियां, पहलवान महावीर कुमार सहदेव, अमर सिंह गोदारा, प्रदीप कुमार स्वामी, पवन पूनियां, वैदिक सोनी समेत कुश्ती संगम के पदाधिकारीयों एवं पहलवानों ने 2 मिनट का मौन रखकर स्वर्गीय पहलवान महेंद्र सिंह चौहान के चित्र पर माल्याअर्पण कर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित की।
वरिष्ठ पहलवान महेंद्र सिंह चौहान का निधन 25 अक्टूबर को हो गया था। पहलवान महावीर कुमार सहदेव ने इस अवसर पर कहा कि महेंद्र सिंह सच्चे नीडर दंगली पहलवान थे और इन्होंने कई पहलवानों को तैयार कर नेशनल तक पहुंचने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई।
व्यायामशाला संचालक एवं कुश्ती संगम के सचिव जगन पूनियां ने श्रद्धांजलि सभा में अपने विचार व्यक्त करते हुए कहा कि पहलवान महेंद्र सिंह ने अपने जीवन में कई उतार चढ़ाव देखें जीवन बहुत कठिन भरा था लेकिन फिर भी इन्होंने पहलवानी करनी नहीं छोड़ी और राजस्थान में होने वाले बड़े दंगलों में पहलवान ने अच्छी कुश्ती कर हमेशा वाह-वाही लूटी और कई दशकों से नवयुवकों के लिए प्रेरणा बने रहे।
कमजोर असहाय व्यक्तियों व गौ माता की सेवा करना कोई पहलवान महेंद्र सिंह जी से सीखे, पहलवानी के साथ-साथ इन्होंने पशुओं से भी प्रेम किया।
इन्होंने गोवंश के लिए बड़ा ही अच्छा सराहनीय कार्य किया, हमेशा उनकी यादें रहेंगी, पूनियां ने इस अवसर पर कहा कि महेंद्र सिंह बीकानेर के ऐसे इकलौते पहलवान थे जिन्होंने कुश्ती ही नहीं अपने निजी जीवन में पशुओं को भी खूब पाला और कुश्ती समेत बहुत अच्छे गोवंश, श्रेष्ठ घोड़ो की नस्ल सुधार एवं सुंदरता के लिए पहलवान जी ने बहुत से मेडल अपने नाम कीए हैं। पशुओं के मेले में पहलवान का अपना एक नाम था हर मेले में इनके गोवंश एवं घोड़े हमेशा जीतते रहे।
पहलवान ने बहुत सारे मेडल प्राप्त किए यह बीकानेर के लिए बड़े गर्व की बात है।

Bikaner, @MaruSangram. Senior wrestler Mahendra Singh Chauhan, Vice President of Bikaner District Wrestling Sangam, was paid tribute at Patel Bal Vihar Gymnasium on Friday.
District Wrestling Sangam Patron Arun Kumar Pandey, Navalram Sihag, Raghuveer Singh Poonia, Mansingh Sihag, President Kamal Kalla, Secretary Wrestler Jagan Poonia, Wrestler Mahavir Kumar Sahdev, Amar Singh Godara, Pradeep Kumar Swami, Pawan Poonia, Vaidik Soni and other members of the Wrestling Sangam. The officials and wrestlers observed 2 minutes silence and garlanded the portrait of late wrestler Mahendra Singh Chauhan and paid floral tributes.
Senior wrestler Mahendra Singh Chauhan died on 25 October. Wrestler Mahavir Kumar Sahdev said on this occasion that Mahendra Singh was a true fearless riotous wrestler and he played an important role in preparing many wrestlers to reach the national level.
Gymnasium operator and Secretary of Wrestling Sangam, Jagan Poonia, while expressing his views in the tribute meeting, said that wrestler Mahendra Singh had seen many ups and downs in his life, life was very difficult but still he did not stop wrestling and participated in the big events happening in Rajasthan. The wrestler always won applause by wrestling well in the riots and remained an inspiration for the youth for many decades.
Any wrestler should learn from Mahendra Singh ji to serve weak, helpless people and mother cows. Along with wrestling, he also loved animals.
He did a very good and commendable work for the cattle, his memories will always remain, Poonia said on this occasion that Mahendra Singh was the only wrestler of Bikaner who not only did wrestling but also reared animals in his personal life and had very good cattle along with wrestling. Pehalwan ji has won many medals for improving the breed and beauty of the best horses. Pahalwan had his own name in the animal fair, his cows and horses always won in every fair.
Wrestler receiving many medals is a matter of great pride for Bikaner.
