भारत ने ऑस्ट्रेलिया के खिलाफ घर में वनडे सीरीज 1-2 से गंवा दी है। टीम को तीसरे वनडे में कंगारुओं ने 21 रन से हराया है। टीम इंडिया घरेलू मैदान पर 26 सीरीज बाद किसी भी फॉर्मेट की बाइलेटरल सीरीज हारी है। इस दौरान टीम ने 24 सीरीज जीती और 2 ड्रॉ खेली हैं।

बुधवार को चेपॉक मैदान पर ऑस्ट्रेलियाई टीम टॉस जीतकर पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए 49 ओवर में 269 रन पर ऑलआउट हो गई। जवाब में भारतीय बल्लेबाज 49.1 ओवर में 248 रन ही बना सके। कुलदीप आखिरी बल्लेबाज के रूप में आउट हुए, जबकि मोहम्मद सिराज नाबाद रहे।

ऑस्ट्रेलिया के एडम जम्पा ने दूसरी पारी में हर बार भारतीय बैटर्स को परेशान किया। जम्पा ने पारी के 12वें ओवर में शुभमन गिल (37) को LBW किया। फिर 27वें ओवर में सेट बैटर केएल राहुल (32) को भी कैच आउट कराया। इसके बाद उन्होंने सेट बैटर हार्दिक पंड्या (40) और रवींद्र जडेजा (18) को भी कैच आउट करा कर टीम इंडिया को 8वां झटका दिया। इसके बाद टीम इंडिया रिकवर नहीं कर सकी और मैच हार गई।

सूर्यकुमार यादव लगातार तीसरे वनडे में गोल्डन डक का शिकार हुए। वे पहले और दूसरे वनडे में मिचेल स्टार्क की बॉल पर LBW हुए थे। सूर्या बैटिंग हैट्रिक बनाने वाले 13वें इंटरनेशनल खिलाड़ी हैं। जब कोई बल्लेबाज लगातार तीन पारियों की पहली बॉल पर जीरो पर आउट होता है, तो उसे बैटिंग हैट्रिक कहते हैं।
